CBS and IT University tap Videlity's expertise

August 21, 2005

Two of Denmark’s leading universities, Copenhagen Business School and Copenhagen’s IT University, have tapped Videlity’s supply chain management expertise to inspire the next generation of business leaders and innovators.

Seamless connection of different processes and ERP systems is critical to the supply chain in today’s competitive business environment. There is not doubt that the concepts of VMI, CPFR, collaborative planning, and e-Business, among others will gain increasing influence in the coming years.  Unfortunately only a few software houses have competence in these fields.  Videlity Software, in my opinion, is today’s most competent and experienced provider of VMI software.” So says Poul Erik Christiansen PhD, Associate Professor at the Copenhagen Business School and well published researcher in the areas of VMI and e-Business.

Most recently, Poul Erik Christiansen invited Videlity to lecture at his Supplier Relationship Management class’s Summer Session for international students.  The objective of the presentation was to illustrate different supplier strategies available to companies through use of IT.

Helle Skott, Videlity’s Presales Manager, presented IT concepts and theory for different strategies from simple information exchange such as Purchase Order Collaboration to more collaborative strategies such as Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI). She used her considerable practical experience in the field to discuss the benefits of VMI and factors critical to its success.

Poul Erik Christiansen says: “I’ve researched Videlity’s solution in many large and well known Danish companies.  It is unique because it can be implemented quickly and results in a large savings in a short amount of time.  That’s why I use guest lecturers from Videlity in my e-Logistics and supply chain management subjects. It’s a great benefit for my students and has resulted in many excellent evaluations.  I see my cooperation with Videlity as a partnership with business advantages both for my research and my teaching.”
