Increasing globalization gives Danish companies more opportunity and geographic reach in relation to both customers and suppliers. The result is often longer and more fragmented supply chains that are increasingly difficult to manage and control. This, together with a trimmed production, means an increased degree of vulnerability and reduced flexibility.
The future’s critical planning and production task, as far as the enterprise’s overall strategy, is to design a setup which both internally - and in the supply chain - ensures a lean business with an intelligent supply chain that is capable of quickly reacting and adjusting to both internal and external events.
